Alabama Game

For those of you that were not here for the Bama Game it was the largest crowd in Vaught-Hemingway history and the largest crowd for a football game in the State of Mississippi. Unfortunately, the game did not end up the way we wanted it to and the weather was not that great either.

Vandy Game

Sorry I'm behind on Games. I would not normally worry about away games but I wanted to include some of these pictures because a lot of good pics were taken and we debut our whole new uniform. We wore the new uniform at South Carolina but we did not wear the new underliner with it. I think it looks so good all put together!

Cheerleaders of the Game

The cheerleaders of the game this week are:

Blue Squad - Katie Manor and Drew McDonald

Red Squad - Macy McCarty and Jeff Ford and Jeff Oliver

First Home Football Game

We had our first home football game this weekend as I am sure everyone knows. We began the afternoon in the grove which was quiet messy from all the rain. After a great grove show we went to the stadium for the game and we were so excited that it did not rain. It was a great first game of the season for everyone. I think everyone had fun and of course we won.

Volleyball Weekend

The Red Squad cheered at two volleyball games this weekend and did such a good job especially since they had not even cheered on Friday and Sunday and then had a football game in the middle. The team was split into 2 groups each doing one game and the whole team did the half time routine both days. It was fun to watch them work so well together. Thanks JR for doing both games!!

Cheerleader of the Game

This weeks cheerleader of the game for the Memphis Game was Eddie Grayson. This is Eddie's first year on varsity but second time going to the Memphis Game. He has been working hard and it showed at the first game of the seaon. He always had his partner Danielle in the air and helped her in her first game as an Ole Miss Cheerleader.

Football Season Has Begun

We began the 2009 Football Season this weekend with our first game at the University of Memphis. The day began with a parade and pep rally on Beale Street which was fun for everyone. We had a great turnout and everyone was excited about the game. The first half of the game was hot and it took our team a while to get started. The second half the clouds moved in so it was cooler and by the fourth quarter our team was on a roll. With 4 minutes left in the game it began raining which made for an even messier day but the big win made it all worth while.

"Ole Miss Yes mam"

Kids Camp 2009-2010 was a huge success for the cheerleaders. Attracting kids from all over, the Ole Miss cheerleaders use the camp as a fundraiser for nationals. Children from the surrounding area come to a mini-camp for fours day and learn a variety of cheers, chants, and stunts. "I love working with kids, and it's always a joy to have little girls look up to you for being a college cheerleader" says Mary Lela Valentine, a freshman from Meridian, Mississippi. This is the 3rd annual Kids Camp that the cheerleaders have done and every year the number of participants grow. This year it was divided into two sessions, a morning and afternoon. The morning sessions were held in the grove and the afternoon sessions were in the indoor practice facility. As the season approaches, the Ole Miss cheerleaders prepare now for next summers Kids Camp!

"Red and Blue Let's Go" Cheer Camp 2009

The Ole Miss Cheerleaders attended UCA college camp at The University of Alabama this past July. Camp is always a team bonding experience every year. Although its hard work, the cheerleaders enjoy every minute of it. It gives time for the newcomers to get to know the returners on the team. Camp sets the pace for every cheerleading teams successful season. Camp was optional but the turnout of participants willing to go was shocking. The cheerleaders received 5th place awards in Division 1A cheerleading. Camp was a blast for both athletes and their coaches. We have a great year ahead of us! Hotty Toddy!
